FAQ


First off: We only speak Dutch and English. "A man has got to know his limitations".

Nein...keine Deutsch sprechen. Mais non...ne parle pas francais. No...no habla Español. No..."handgesture" Itialiano. Não fale português. No...something Greek alphabet. No...something all of the Eastern European/Magyar alphabet. Seriously no Scandinavian! You guys speak much better English than we do!


1. Are you a serious company?

Absolutely! GameSpin is a registered company at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KvK-number 90044541. But we're not THAT serious. We can spare a smile here and there. And if you joke around with us, we promise to always laugh with you, for a while...even when the joke wasn't that funny.

2. Where do the goods come from?

This specific 'Q' will be updated as GameSpin grows in the future. For now we will address the gaming market need by importing goods from the US. We are a Retro Fighters® Official International Retailer. You can visit their website via the following link: https://retrofighters.com/. Get back soon, Ya hear! :)

In the meantime we will keep a look out in which way we can respond to the gaming market demands. Once we grow or start offering other goods, we will surely update you on the origin of said goods. Like a "spider" in the web. (thank you, I haven't laughed like that since I was a little girl!)

3. If I order now, when will I be receiving my gaming gear?

When ordering from GameSpin stock within the Netherlands, the following applies:

  • Order placed on a working day prior to 3.00pm (15:00): Order is received the next day at home or the parcel collection point.
  • Order placed Friday after 3.00pm (15:00) or within the weekend: Order is received the following Tuesday at home or the parcel collection point.

All is depending on the processing time of the parcel servicing companies. Any delays on their end is beyond our influence.

 

Pick-up is currently not an option. 

 

Residing within Belgium or Luxembourg? Shipment to your country is possible. Delivery time from our stock is 2-3 working days.

Residing within France or Germany? Shipment to your country is also possible. Delivery time from our stock is 2-5 working days.

Residing elsewhere within Europe, then shipment is possible to most countries. Delivery time from our stock is 3-10 working days. Bear in mind that for shipments outside the EU, import costs and/or customs clearance costs may apply at the destination country. These costs are carried by the recipient/customer.

 

IMPORTANT: At times we will make direct ordering from the supplier available on the website. Take into account that an order through the supplier (outside our stock) will take longer, approximately 2 weeks. We will make sure to mention this at the applicable products. For international shipments these 2 weeks are added to the regular delivery time.

Note: A combination order of GameSpin stock and supplier stock means that the longest of delivery times applies to your order. We ship orders as much as possible within one shipment.

 

PRE-ORDERS: In the event that you have placed a pre-order, then your order will naturally not become available prior to the release date. This means that delivery time is dependent on the release date. Keep in mind that with Retro Fighters products the supplier is located within America. Delivery time to GameSpin takes approximately one or two weeks. And we will always push for availibility within NL on release date. Though this might not always be possible.

4. To which countries is shipment possible?

For now GameSpin only offers shipment within the EU and continental Europe, with the exception to possible (temporary) crisis- and or disaster areas or territories within the EU or Europe. Think of Ukraine. Plus we are bound to European and Dutch legislation. This means a couple of countries and/or areas are out of scope or marked as high-risk area.

 

De outside borders are basically:

West: Atlantic Ocean

North: Northern borders of Scandinavia

East: Wester border of Russia

South East: South East borders of Bulgaria and Greece, Western-/Northern border of Black Sea.

South: Mediterranean

 

Which (European) countries or areas are out of scope:

Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldava, Albania, Malta, Montenegro, Canary Islands.

5. What are the shipment costs?

Within The Netherlands, shipment costs depend on parcel company selection, PostNL (€ 5,95) or DPD ( 5,95) or DHL Insured Shipping (€ 8,45). We also provide shipment to these respective companies' collection points, which is usually € 1,00 cheaper.

Note: If you are residing within Maarssenbroek, then please send us a message through the contact form, tick option "Shipment", prior to placing your order. We'll take care of ya'!

 

Outside The Netherlands we provide shipment via parcel companies PostNL and DHL. Their shipping rates depend on the destination country as well as the package weight. Shipment to Belgium and Germany is € 9,95 (up to 23kg).

NOTE: Bear in mind that for shipment outside EU import costs and/or customs clearance costs may apply at the destination country. These costs are carried by the recipient/customer. Refusal of shipment by the customer will result in no refund of original shipping costs plus any return shipping charges GameSpin incurs, and the customer will also be charged a 15% re-stocking fee.

 

Note: as we send more and more shipments, the parcel companies will offer different (read: BETTER) shipping rates. Simply put: More volume, lower price per shipment. We want to charge you the lowest as possible shipment rates, which is completely in your favor as a customer. This also mean we might stop offering shipment via one or more parcel companies in time, once the mutual difference becomes too large. Lowest price wins. Always keeping an eye on the highest performance and quality.

 

We currently do not offer free shipment cost as of yet. We are working to offering this in the future. "Hey we gotta eat too you know!"

6. Is pick-up of my gaming gear possible?

GameSpin currently does not offer pick-up yet. Simply because our current address is a private residence and we do like to keep that private (you dig?). Our (mid-)long-term plan is to open up a business venue (once we become a big boy). From that moment onwards, cost-free pick-up or returns on location will become possible. When will that happen? Who knows...? A nice role for you there, as a client. M-m-m-more sales, m-m-m-more money. M-m-m-more money, b-b-b-better accomocations. (or speech therapy)

7. Which payment options are available?

GameSpin offers iDeal and PayPal as payment options. For our Belgian customers we also offer Bancontact, Belfius Direct Net and KBC/CBC Payment Button. For our German customers we offer Giropay. For our Polish customers we offer Przelewy24. And within the SEPA-zone we also offer SEPA-overboeking. Finally we also offer Klarna Sofort als an alternative for a select number of European countries.

8. Do we offer any warranty?

The great advantage is that we do not yet offer any "refurbished" gaming gear. This means we can guarantee quality and functionality. Should you nevertheless run into quality or functionality issues upon receival of the products, then you can start the return process through our contact form, tick option "Return". And after that you can return the product within 14 days. In case of a warranty request, the return shipment costs are refunded by GameSpin, provided that our investigation does not turn up any flaws. Consult the website of your parcel company for the applicable shipment rates.

We will assess and investigate any returned products within 7 days and we will closely work with you to look for a suitable solution. Either exchanging for another product or a refund. If so desired, a refund is issued within 7 days through the same payment method.

 

Please always contact us first in this situation, prior to starting up a return process. Sometimes a simple trouble-shooting will suffice. We are at your service.

 

NOTE: Your warranty expires upon establishing that there has been (intentional) incorrect use of the product(s). All rights reserved.

 

IMPORTANT: Due to the combination of high-risk area + large amount of the (standard insured) shipping costs, we do not accept any returns from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and North Macedonia. This means we cannot offer the aforementioned warranty within those countries. Customer from these countries order at their own risk.

9. Is there a way to return the gaming gear ("Herroepingsrecht" policy or Right of withdrawal)?

If your product is still unopened, sealed and undamaged, you can start a return process within 14 days through our contact form, tick option "Return". After that you have 14 days to return the product. The return shipment costs are carried by the customer. Consult the website of your parcel company for the applicable shipment rates.

 

We will assess and investigate any returned products within 7 days. If the returned product or products are still in new/mint condition, sealed and undamaged, then a refund is issued within 7 days through the same payment method.

 

After 14 days the "Herroepingsrecht" policy or Right of withdrawal expires and the purchase is final. Nevertheless, if you are somehow unhappy, then please contact us about your order. We just want to see a happy and returning customer. Forever...and ever... (crazy sideways-face)

 

IMPORTANT: Due to the combination of high-risk area + large amount of the (standard insured) shipping costs, we do not accept any returns from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and North Macedonia. This means we cannot offer the aforementioned Right of withrdrawal within those countries. Customer from these countries order at their own risk.

10. Complaints?

Should you for whatever reason want to file a complaint with us, then kindly reach out to us through our contact form. Please clearly state what your precise complaint is and about which of the products offered. Important is to also provide the invoice number (factuurnummer). This will make for an easier assessment of your complaint. We will in any case send you a confirmation of receipt and, if possible, a time frame within which we will send you a substantive response. We will do our best to substansively respond to your complaint within 7 days. Together we will work closely to look for a suitable solution.

11. Troubleshooting for products?

Thankfully, in this day and age, answers to a lot of questions related to the products offered are widely available on the internet. After all, there will ALWAYS be testers on Youtube or any of the many forums, such as Reddit. (saluting the critical gaming community and its thoroughness)

 

GameSpin, to a certain degree, also offers the possibility to help you with any questions related to a product. Try us. Send us a message through our contact form, tick option "General". We will try to help you within 48 hours with troubleshooting. If necessary we will knock on the supplier's door together, if we are not able to provide you with the answers ourselves. After all, the supplier has the most knowledge about the products they offer.

12 How fair are the prices?

GameSpin will try its utmost to always be offering you a fair price. We often see that gaming shops "generously" (over)price their "new" products. (that goes double for imported goods) We like what we do and enjoy offering you the bad-ass retro gaming gear in stock. And we will go through lengths to keep prices as low as humanly possible, seriously. Now obviously we do need to earn our our bread and butter, but not through your misfortune. Life is expensive enough as it is. This means negotiations tough as nails with any of the suppliers (in the spirit of The Sopranos: Link), obviously keeping your "puss'in'boots-large-eyes" in our minds, and of course "tight, tight, tight" deals with the parcel companies. It is an ongoing business on that level. "What is level 2?" Shut up, Frank.

 

If you are curious about the price of a product, but you're unable to find its price. No worries. Just send us a message through our contact form, tick option "General" and we will update you on the product price as soon as possible. We'll take care of ya'!

13. Products in stock?

GameSpin's website automatically keeps track of its stock. If a product price is visible, then the product is for sale, ready to ship out to you! Sold out products are generally not shown on the website. Unless of course, on the off chance, we want to provide you with a way to subscribe to a mailing list, to receiving a message when restocking has happened for a certain product. 

14. Products out of stock?

Our stock depends on the quantity of products we buy from our suppliers. This in turn depends on the general stock of the supplier and of course the size of our order. It may well be that a product is temporarily out of stock in our shop. But eventually all of the products - which are currently in scope - will be restocked again, given that we regularly place an order at our supplier. If you wish to receive a non-binding e-mail, once a product is restocked, send us a message through our contact form, tick option "Out of stock product". Please let us know which products you would like to purchase.

 

Wanna tip us about other niche-market products within the gaming world, then send us a message through our contact form, tick option "Tips/Feedback" That will help us with our ongoing market research, which in turn aids you as a gamer. We are a growing company and are always looking for untapped niche-markets within the Benelux region. That way we do our bit for the retro gaming industry. These do have to be aftermarket and new products. Refurbished products are currently out of scope.
